Happy Mother's Day
Sunday, May 12, 2013 // 10:41 PM

To the kindest woman in my life...

If I knew as a child what I know now, Mom, I probably wouldn't have made things so hard for you.I would have understood that you were looking out for my best interest.
Even though it may not have seemed so at the time.
I would have known how difficult it is to let go,
to stand back and let someone you love learn from their mistakes.
I would have realized how fortunate I was to have a mother
who was always there for me, even after an argument,
even after I'd said things I shouldn't have.
While it's too late for a lot of things, it's not too late for me to tell you
that I appreciate how loving you are,
how giving you've always been and that even though
I may not always be good at showing it,
I love you very much.
- Renee Duvall

I remembered when I was a kid, I would kiss my mother good night on her cheek.
I'd ask her if she's going to the wet market on Saturday mornings because I wanna tag along with her.
Then I became the rebellious kid, bad temper, bad attitude, I'm the complete opposite of her personality.
On Saturdays and every other day, I'd rather sleep than to spend time with her.
I always stayed out late and she would fall asleep in the living room while waiting for me.
I made the wrong decisions in life and she always forgave me.
She never scolded people who bullied her because she told me if she retaliated, there will be no peace.

I'm so thankful for having you in my life, mum. Thank you for tolerating me, helping me and loving me.
